Figure 5

Mean values and standard errors for the Insulin Sensitivity Indices from the Single Delay Model (K xgI ) and from the Minimal Model (S I ). For the KxgI the average values were computed both in the Full Sample and in the reduced Sub-Sample. The average values of the SI index over the Full Sample were out of scale for all four groups and could not be plotted. Black bar = KxgI in the Full Sample, white bar = SI in the reduced Sub-Sample, striped bar = KxgI in the reduced Sub-Sample. Post-Hoc analysis by LSD test: for the KxgI in the Full Sample the significant comparisons were 1 vs 3 (P = 0.001), 1 vs 4 (P < 0.001), 2 vs 4 (0.001) and 3 vs 4 (P = 0.047); for the KxgI in the reduced Sub-Sample the significant comparisons were: 1 vs 3 (P = 0.001), 1 vs 4 (p < 0.001), 2 vs 3 (P = 0.008), 2 vs 4 (P = 0.002); for the SI in the reduced Sub-Sample the significant comparisons were: 1 vs 3 (P = 0.019), 1 vs 4 (P = 0.001), 2 vs 4 (P = 0.016).
